WHAT EVERYBODY OUGHT TO KNOW ABOUT HEALING

INTRODUCTION

Lynn Crawford

All things are possible to him who believes.
~ Mark 9:23
NKJv

Are you battling a sickness or disease that seems hopeless? Nothing is impossible for God. Paul and I have seen just about every sickness and disease healed by the power of Jesus Name. The Aids virus, cancers, diabetes, blindness, deafness, the paralyzed walk, addictions and alcoholism—gone by the grace of God!

One of the first creative miracles I witnessed happened in The Dalles, Oregon. A woman asked me to pray for her. As a small girl, she had been in an automobile accident. Her forearm was severely injured and had not grown since that accident. As a result, her injured arm was about half the size of a healthy adult's arm. She stood before me expectant and ready to receive her miracle. I felt inadequate and asked if I could get someone more experienced to minister to her.

“No,” she replied. “God showed me to come to you.”

I put my hands on her arm and closed my eyes. That was a mistake. We have to keep our eyes open to see the miracles happen. Jesus said, "Blessed (happy, to be envied) are those whose eyes see what you see!” (Luke 10:23 AMP).

Then I prayed, “In the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit, I command this arm to be perfected by grace. I speak a new arm to my sister, in Jesus name."

I heard a loud thump-thump-thump sound. I opened my eyes to see what fell. To my surprise, she was lying on the floor on her back. The man catching her was also flat on his back. The one behind him and the next one and the next. There was a line of people laid out on the floor like a row of dominoes extending all the way to the back of the room.

She was laughing and crying, overwhelmed by God's love. When she stood up, she had two perfect arms. Praise God!

If God can make a new arm with muscles and blood vessels and nerves and everything else it takes, He can take care of you.

“I will give you back your health and heal your wounds,” says the LORD. (Jeremiah 30:17 NLT)

Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole. (Isaiah 53:4-5 P)

I'm so grateful to Jesus and the Cross. He gave us that divine assurance found only in Him and His sacrifice. The Holy Spirit showed Isaiah the reality of the finished work at Calvary. Although Jesus hadn't even been born yet, Isaiah uses past tense to describe what he saw in the Spirit: Surely He has borne our griefs; He has carried our sorrows; He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our guilt; He took the chastisement (capital punishment) necessary to gain peace and well-being for us; and by His stripes we ARE healed and made whole.

Jesus died and rose again once and for all. The perfect sacrifice, never to be repeated. He paid the full price for our salvation and our healing. His body was broken that we might be made whole.

It is inconsistent to have Jesus pay a price
for healing and for us to believe
it is not God's intention to heal.
—Bill Johnson

God revealed one of His Names, Jehovah RaphaȰthe LORD who heals you—in Exodus 15:22–26. His creation reflects His healing nature: water, fresh air, plants, herbs, and minerals can all contribute to healing. He gave our bodies immune systems to promote healing. There is healing flowing throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.

~ Jesus said, "Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father" (John 14:9). Jesus healed everyone who came to

Him. (Luke 6:19). Jesus also said He only did what He saw the Father doing.

~ So Jesus answered them by saying, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the Son is able to do nothing of Himself (of His own accord); but He is able to do only what He sees the Father doing, for whatever the Father does is what the Son does in the same way [in His turn]. (John 5:19 AMP)

Your Heavenly Father loves you and wants you to be well. Healing is a gift. Salvation is a gift. God is so generous in His love. Salvation is available for everyone and healing is available for everyone.

We hope as you read this book, you'll experience His healing power in every area of your life. Jesus paid the full price for our sins, sorrows, and sicknesses at the Cross. It is finished! This is the good news. Jesus declared:

~ And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover. (Mark 16:17– 18 NKJV)
